OKADA Isamu was born in the the Gifu Provence on Kyushu in mid April, 803 A.S. Both of his parents worked on the massive farm compound outside of town with his mother being the line supervisor of the packing plant and his father driving a harvester. They wanted more for their son than what the small town could provide and so sent him to live with his uncle, who worked for Samura, in Kenbuchi city where he would have access to a better education.

Isamu went to the Kenbuchi University where he studied Interstellar Business and interned with the Samura student mentorship program, a minimum wage position, learning the ropes of of the transport industry. This opened his eyes to the wonders of space travel as he worked under the ship captain, to learn to one day command his own vessel. It was hard work and not what he expected it to be. Isamu worked in all sections of the operation from loading the cargo, fixing the engines to taking the bridge for some night shift work. Slowly his confidence grew as he encountered each situation and adapted to meet each challenge. Becoming the executive officer of the ship, Isamu began taking more responsibility with the captain giving him command of the ship for longer periods and making him responsible for all contract negotiations. This lasted for a year before he was finally deemed ready.

After being signed off by the captain, Isamu was offered his own vessel the Shimoda-Maru, a thirty year old Akegata class heavy transport.This vessel had a strong frame but was missing nearly half its weapons and the systems were in desperate need of repair. Isamu rose to the opportunity and began a constant series of upgrades while the ship travelled the Kusari - Rheinland route, slowly all the systems were upgraded and the weapons replaced or installed one by one.

Today the Shimoda-Maru is a fully capable transport that while lacking in capacity compared to the larger transports fielded by Samura, she is no pushover. Carrying more firepower than most and thick armor able to shrug off almost all weapons fire, she has survived attacks by Blood Dragons, Golden Chrysanthemums and Outcasts. The Shimoda_Maru can still be found on the Kusari - Rheinland route, but has since expanded operations taking her to Gallia, Bretonnia and frequently Corsair space where she makes regular deliveries to Crete.
