The Sunny was finally back up and menacing as always. Heartwood came by earlier and apologized. The right way, the way Meallan liked it. Two hours later, her second-in-command was almost on the brink of sounding the general alert when she finally picked up her comm. A quick goodbye while putting her pants on and Dagon was satisfied and breathing in, ready to hit the Nemesis project again. He got up, put his pants back on, and while he indeed needed a bath as Heartwood said mid-apology, he excused himself that the Sunny came first. And now. Nemesis. He pulled the alloy scans that Levy had uploaded onto his neural-net account. It was looking promising.

The decision of melting and then using the remains of the old main skeleton of tantalum covered in a boron-niobium alloy was almost religious as inspired. The new alloy was strong. Very strong. The purity of it in the scans was something to see. Almost as the old bird was somehow reborn. He nodded to himself as the numbers ran through his eyes. The usage of artificial carbon allotropes, equal to the diamond ones, formed in tetrahedrons bonded perfectly with his special titanium alloy, almost miraculously, but he knew that the old body was the one to blame for that. It was a precision job, almost done with a sixth sense, that no machine could mimic. The perfect balance achieved. At half the weight. Three tons could be scratched off the expected weight, which meant that the whole ship balance in the schematics would have not only to be completely re-calibrated, but the gain in space and weight was more than enough to compensate that heartache. He sighed, seeing no beer around, and cracked his neck. More calculations to be done, more ideas to come and more headaches to be. And he was smiling through it all.
