Amelie was born in a large workers' complex outside one of Daumman's larger agricultural fertilizer installations on Planet Holstein. She comes from a modest but hardworking Rheinland family consisting mostly of mineral salt miners and fertilizer processing workers. She herself worked for Daumman on one of the fertilizer plants, and has been noted to be a stoically calm, no-nonsense kind of person. Supervisors have also taken note of her ability to make quick patch ups to machinery that had broken down, citing her usefulness as a mechanic as well.
