' Wrote:No you didn't. You can't walk over someone at all, since you don't have such a power here. You can only discuss and state your ideas, rejections or protests like any of us here does and post them away on the forums. And its worse to tell me, that I should take a look around for something which doesn't exist.
You might want to take a look at my guide though, if you need a good reference for what should be done before coming up with proposals. If the so called populace insist on ignoring our guidelines, then thats their problem. The things they propose will most likely be turned down or ignored due to their lack of interest against the standing factions, groups and the structure here. What we need to do is to show them the right path first off. Walking over someone or a group of people is out of question.
I find myself refraining from considering akumabito's Bretonian battleship out of line, after I am encouraged by more than a few of my peers to round up my faction and hunt it down as a defector, which I do honestly believe I could RP well, and get away with, and do without breaking any of the server rules. I am in a position where I can walk all over his rp, and be supported, even congratulated, by most of the people I talk to in this community. I refrain from doing so through the sense of decency that you seem to be encouraging me to acquire, Kress. There is nothing stopping me from doing that but myself.
Granted, here, on the forums, I can only state my peace. But in disco, I do consider myself capable of mustering the firepower necessary to ruin Akumabito's, or any other single player's, playing experience. My faction is bigger than they are, and could, quite easily, squish them. I do not, and I am against such behavior, but I do believe that my own faction, and every other faction, is bigger, and by that position, stronger, than any indie, and could ruin their day, or, in my rather hasty words, walk all over them.
Shigeo Kitamura - Hogosha, I do not feel entitled to the right to walk over people, I have stated that I could, much the same as I could kick my dog. Nothing at all is stopping me from doing so but myself, and I am upset that you believe I act in such a manner. I contemplate such an action in the same manner I would contemplate kicking my dog, or anyone else's dog, and if you have never considered doing something horrible simply because you were able to, you are a far better person than I am. Luckily for me, all I have ever done is contemplate such an action. The fact remains that I believe I could construct an RP for making someone's play time here miserable, miserable enough for them to leave their faction, or possibly the game, and not receive any sort of official sanction or statement. I did it to the RM, for months, with a vindictive and cruel bounty that I very much regret. I did it to Tic, with fleets and bombers from the QCRF, and that, again, I regret. I hope not to make the mistake again. I am ashamed to have threatened Akumabito with it, but I still maintain that that is the way disco is set up, and that it is perfectly within server rules for me to act in that manner. I hope to not act that way again.
Xoria, I am sorry I brought you into this.
Finally, I persist in believing that the statement at the head of this thread, quoted out of context and filled with erroneous logic or false support though it may be, is a realist view of the structure of the discovery rules, if not the community or the social decency that makes it what it is.
