The Bretonian Armed Forces

Technology & Grants Department

"Toys & Games"

The Technology & Grants Department was born out of a necessity to keep the technological and tactical level of the Bretonian Armed Forces at par with the remaining Houses, something that was forgotten during the Bretonian-Kusari conflict as well the ever present Gallic Invasion. For ten years that much of the technology present in the Armed Forces is or was designed by outsourced companies in Bretonia, much like BMM or Bowex.

While for some in the Admiralty Board this was a standard and normal arrangement, Fleet Admiral McIntire felt that much, in terms of offer and solutions, was being lost by not having a department under the careful review of the Armed Forces Admiralty and yet capable of providing new avenues of thought and technology.

Over the first months of Fleet Admiral McIntire service, careful selected members of the Armed Forces as well civilians from Bretonia and other Houses were contracted and offered a position in the Technology & Grants Department, aptly nicknamed by the members of the Armed Forces as "Toys & Games", an exceedingly intelligent jest at the department that in those words explain much of what is done here. Apart from the obvious, there were also hired logistical and market specialists that create links to several of the companies in Sirius and as well knowledge pools, much like the University of Cambridge or the Cambridge Research Institute.

Also, this department is responsible by the Requisition Office, hereby granting the brave pilots with whatever technology is available in the Bretonian Armed Forces hardware portfolio and logistical assets, where over thirty warehouses spread in undisclosed locations contain both the stock and workshops. Receiving their orders directly from the Admiralty Board, it guarantees a close over watch in their projects and technology grants to the troops. "Ever changing and ever forward" is the motto of the department, and it prides itself in developing the tools and tactics needed by the Armed Forces.
