Controlling several characters at once

They'd have to be missile ships.

It'd be hard to control four ships so tightly together that their turrets all aim at the same spot. From formation you'd aim with the mouse and get guns firing in four different directions. Plus lots of ramming and bumping if the ships are large enough or don't know how to avoid asteroids.

Plus mines would be out of the question.
