Albert Camus Wrote:With rebellion, awareness is born. A living man can be enslaved and reduced to the historic condition of an object. But if he dies in refusing to be enslaved, he reaffirms the existence of another kind of human nature which refuses to be classified as an object.
CARSON DORNE Gender: FEMALE
Date of birth:802 A.S.
PoB: BEAUMONT BASE, TEXAS SYSTEM, LIBERTY
Origin group: OTHER (JUNKERS)
Qualifications:
Carson's modest résumé as one of the local Junkers operating out of the Texas System include pilotry of the Junkers' mining vessels, namely their CSF's, CSV's, Collectors and Recyclers. And while not a combat pilot by profession, she has on numerous occasions demonstrated sufficient basic grasp of space combat.
Background:
Unless you believe in something, you will become an empty shell or a rabid dog. In the end, all you have is your dignity.
While it is generally rare that Junkers should find any other purpose beyond profiting from the rich debris fields around Sirius, there are a few such as Carson Dorne, who'll answer the call of duty, where it may be argued that most of her kind would not. She was found by one of the Battlegroup's covert operatives in the bar on Planet Houston, where the young Dorne had just arrived for a drink after mining for premium scrap deep in Pequena Negra. Born on Beaumont Base located in the North Dallas Debris field and toughened by the rough lifestyle of the Junkers of Liberty, she was a choice aspirant for recruitment.
Ultimately, it was the Liberty Authorities' harsh treatment of the Junkers that pushed her to apply as a pilot for Battlegroup Harmony. Between both Navy and Policy brutality towards the salvagers, scrappers and miners of the debris fields increasing, and heightened ambushes from the Xeno Alliance, Carson found reason in the Battlegroup's ideals, and possibly, a purpose higher than just mining for scraps across Liberty - a chance to fight for the freedom to do it.
And although Dorne possesses no professional qualifications in combat or flying, character references have cited her competency as a pilot - often playing defensively over leaping into the gun-sights of both pirates and police. Recordings of her activities in the North Dallas Debris Field and Pequena Negra suggest that she'd learn very quickly from additional training, and her ingenuity with ship repair and maintenance acquired from the Junkers would be able to serve Harmony as well when not in combat.
When queried about her intentions for enlisting for Battlegroup Harmony, she replied that she believed that the Harmony Separatists had the right of way in this conflict, in that they seldom attacked civilian targets or even Junkers, while the authorities who claimed legitimacy bullied and battled to no end; that with Harmony, Texas, if not all of Liberty, would finally find peace.
She does not appear to be privy to intelligence on Nomad activity or infection within Liberty Space yet.
