Quote:Finally..somebody who understands how I feel about the amount of traffic in/out of Alaska. And yet they still whine when they get killed.
Remember a long while back, there was this LSF gunboat named Virago?
Yea, that was me, and I kept plenty of smugglers and traders out of alaska at the time. I also raised hell on the forums here to try and get it stopped, to no effect.
Back then, even you didnt patrol alaska as much as you do now =P
The big excuse these smugglers use is "well, we're not breaking server rules, so if you want to stop us you have to defend the systems yourself!"...
Probelm is, there really arent enough players to keep constant post in those systems. I'm one of the only order players who actually cares about stopping smugglers - the rest seem to run off and kill nomads all day long instead of going after these guys.
If we had people constantly posted in omicron minor, omicron 100, and alaska who all put in the effort to stop smugglers and traders from using those systems, it wouldnt be a problem. They'd die enough times that they'd start using other routes.
Oh, and to SwissScorch - I dont give anyone 30 seconds. The instant I see that someone isnt using a zoner/order/corsair ID and they're in O-100, they're dead. I dont give them warning, I dont give them a chance to turn around, I just open fire until their ship crumbles to little bitty peices.
It may not be very 'sporting' of me, and it may make me look like a jerk or pvp whore, but it's pretty clear that guard systems are an exception when it comes to pvp. Anyone passing through a guard system without a very good reason, and without being allied to that system's owning faction, is KOS.
EDIT:
I do think it was a bit much that stone/solarsz brought an outcast destroyer and gunboat in with him after I told him he wasnt welcome in order space... then again, it's also hilarious that someone as horrible at pvp as myself was able to chase off both of those escorts alone, with nothing more than standard order turrets and a zoner destroyer.
