I've returned from the delivery of Seraphine to Vierques. Sandra seems to be quite the interesting character. Not much to know about her yet, but I do see she's likely the simple type - Not that there's a problem with that. Some are often jealous of those with little concern on the mind, but I digress. Ship Schemata is underway, and nearly complete.
With what we could salvage from the original refit attempts we got from one of my contacts who up and departed, I've personally tasked Honya with the Refit's development.
The 'wing' will serve as an extension of the ship that allows for mounting further weapons to the ship, however, I'm wanting to make it more sleek looking. As for the ship's powerplant and decks, I've extended them to allow for more personnel to live on the ship - around 5,000-10,000, with a optimal end capacity of 8,500 at the end of the refit. The powerplant will be using one large Tamayori-hime/B Engine, and two smaller Tamayori-hime/Cs providing additional boost. The upper hangar will be sealed shut and allow for storing of ships and lower them to the launch hangar via a lift, while a underslung runway will allow snubcraft to approach the ship from behind with ease. The 'fins' on the top of the ship have been supplanted by a internal radiator system that will keep the ship warm, and excess energy burned through cooling through a alternate loop using large amounts of Liquid Nitrogen.
Most notably, the radar on the top of the ship will be removed and replaced with a AESA radome system built into the lower front tip of the ship. Other components on the top of the ship have been removed to make way for the main heavy battery, and part of the primary offensive battery. The undercarriage of the ship will still carry armament, but It'll be for the most part some primary and secondary armament.
We'll be reusing the components of the ship from the top to make some other parts of the ship, like the drop pod system I would like to see constructed. Using a sole retrograde rocket engine and seperation blasts from the flagship, the droppods will, much like the ship's escape pods, be able to decend to a planet and commit to a surgical assault. Perfect for what we'll need for the Raid on Kishiro I've been planning for a month now.
We'll also be extending the amount of escape pods we have, and allowing them to double as larger drop pods. I'll be adding in enough for our crew and then some, so if we do use them for a surgical assault, we can still get people off the ship if we end up in a point of no survival situation where we'll end up losing Sera. Something I hope never comes to fruition, but.. you never know.
We'll have to figure out the logistical ****show that will be getting Seraphine up and running. Possibly work with the people on Freeport 12 and have them act as a staging area for holding supplies? Or should we use Atka? request supplies from our allies in return for payment, haul those supplies from Atka or 12, and then take them to Vierques? I mean, we could pay the Junkers to do all that, but we've yet to break even from the Utsunomiya. I'll see what Aiko can do bartering with the GMG and her contacts on Pittsburgh.
We do need to shift focus for the time being to development and defense. Getting Maehara ready for any kind of threat is our top priority. And with Sera in dry dock, we'll need whatever we can get our hands on.
