How did you find the faction? What caught your interest?

My Unioner character, Hunter Wolff, was brought into Omicron Lost without warning when accompanying Katherine Pennybrooke and Nyctophilia. We ran across Melia and another Vagrant and I experienced Nomad role play for the first time since joining Discovery. After that, I spent a lot of time reading up on Nomad role play in Discovery, and I created an independent Nomad because I wanted to embrace the challenge. My first night on my new Nomad character, I bumped into Melia again. I mentioned how much I want to embrace the RP challenge that is being a Nomad, and the stories that they can create. Melia suggested that joining a Nomad faction was really the only way to dive into the Nomad role play and have experts to learn from, so here I am!

Have you read the faction writeups? Do you know what a Nomad is and do you have experience roleplaying them?

I've completed a review of the Vagrant faction information, the Evolutions and the Trials. I understand the very basics of what a Nomad is - a creation of the Daam K'Vosh that is a silicone-based life form, left in Sirius to tend to it by them. I also understand the primary difference between the Slomon K'Hara - who remained in Sirius after the Nomad War - and the Vagrants - who were pulled through the Hypergate and had to fight (though it was more research) their way back to Sirius. However, I have not role played a Nomad before, but I am excited to take on the challenge.

How long have you been playing Freelancer? Do you have experience leading factions, etc.? Have you ever been sanctioned and if yes, why?

I started playing Freelancer when it first came out in 2003. Yes, I'm that old. I am new to Discovery though, having only been here about a month. I currently have a very active Unioner character and a new Liberty Police character, with role play examples provided below. I have never led a faction, and feel that I need more experience in Discovery's world before I could ever even consider a leadership position. Right now it is my time to learn. I have never been sanctioned.

As a Nomad, you are the antagonist. Are you aware that you are to play this role and that others will treat you as such? Do you have a problem with that?

Although Nomads are primarily an antagonist, I have learned that they are not to all humans. I've seen in my brief role play interactions that there are humans who have non-antagonistic relationships with the Nomads. That being said, I know that's the exception, not the rule. I have no issue with being everyone's enemy, and being the focus of destruction for most humans in Sirius. I think it just adds another fun element to the challenge of being a Nomad in role play.

Do you have roleplay experience outside of Discovery? Did you ever play on other Freelancer servers and if yes, which?

I am currently 36, and I've been role playing since I was 15 years old. I started out in play-by-email Star Trek games when I was a kid, which expanded into tabletop role playing and independent co-authored story writing. These stories and role plays have spanned genres from science fiction to fantasy to political dramas to romance. I have played on other Freelancer servers (whose names I cannot remember) back when I first started playing the game, but I never really role played on them - just the game mechanics. My time on Discovery has been my first in-depth role playing experience in the Freelancer universe, and it has been amazing so far. I'd be honored to be considered for the Vagrants to be my next step in expanding my role play experience.

We have a clear code of conduct. We expect decent behaviour from our members on the forums as well in the game. Do you believe you will be able to do that? Do you acknowledge that your membership can be terminated if you violate the faction code of conduct or the server rules?

I am fully capable of complying with the server and faction code of conduct, and promise to treat everyone with respect and dignity as a representative of the faction. I also understand that my membership is conditional, and can be revoked at any time.

While not strictly necessary, getting a grip on your roleplaying ability is crucial for our evaluation process. Please provide links to roleplay that you have done on the Discovery Forums as well as a list of character names you use ingame.
