Smuggler Weapon loadout

It used to be you had to use fighter turrets to even have a chance against pirates and the like but now you really cant beat level 4 Transport Turrets they may be slow firing but they are very accurate and deadly especially against fighters.

In fact last time I tryed to pirate in a fighter I died before I knew what hit me although I didnt have any shield breakers and really struggled to make a dent.

As far as smuggling rep goes I'd go untagged just drop missions for anyone your green with and eventually you can get there though it's easier to start with a new character sometimes.
