Applicant Description
Biography: Born and raised in Île-de-France, I moved around quite a bit, as my mother was a freighter captain and my father a researcher for EFL; I grew up on my mother's ship at first, then moved to New Paris to live with my father when my mother's long business trips became a hindrance to my education. I attended school there, with a degree in mathematics, following in my father's footsteps. I was not a good academic; I am a man of action, not words, and as such I decided to help my nation in another way. I graduated flight training and worked as a freelancer in southern Gallia for a year and a half to polish my skills, and now here I am.
Motivations: Gallia is the center of civilisation. It contains all that I hold dear; as such, I wish to defend it and advance its interests, whatever those may be.
Skills: As previously stated, I am a pilot, with a year and a half of freelancing experience. I also have a year-odd of academic and research experience, although this is not my cup of tea.
Questionnaire
On a scale to ten, how would you rate your piloting ability?: 8
Describe the Kingdom's primary enemies:
The Sirian scum, responsible for stealing our nation's exodus lands - with the (for now) exception of the Kusari weaklings and the Rheinlanders.
The Council and its allies, despicable secessionists who wish nothing but the ruin of the Royaume for the sake of their own power.
Any and all criminals, hostiles, and ne'er-do-wells who go against the will of the Couronne and the laws of Gallia, either through direct action or by aiding the enemy.
While on patrol, you encounter a small wing of Council fighters. They spot you, and begin threatening your life unless you disable your craft and surrender to their cause. You are outgunned and the nearest friendly patrol that would bring the tide to your favour is ten minutes away from you. What will you do?:
Death before surrender. That said, I would certainly not lay down and wait for the grim reaper to claim me; I would do everything in my power to evade and delay until the arrival of reinforcements; should that fail, I will attempt to do as much damage as possible before they kill me, and ensure that my craft is not captured.
During one of your flights, you encounter an escape pod or a malfunctioning ship. The person inside is speaking in Sirian tongue and is asking for immediate help. If you wait any longer, the pilot will perish horribly. What will you do?:
Rescue them, of course. Our quarrel is with the Sirian governments and their lackeys, not with the civilians, as misguided as they are. Killing the unarmed and vulnerable is both immoral and dishonorable, an act so low that a member of the MRG should not even think of committing it - in fact, it is illegal in Gallia; non-assistance to people in danger is a crime. For the sake of caution, I would confine the person to their escape pods until they can be handed over to the proper authorities (MRG or Police forces).
Joining the Marine Royale Gauloise means you will fight for your King and your people, but also for core Gallic values. Here is a list of values ; underline THREE of them that you think belong to core Gallic values, and explain your choice.
<HONOUR / FREEDOM / EDUCATION / DEMOCRACY / MERIT / WEALTH / DISCIPLINE / VALOUR / EQUALITY / STRENGTH>
Why those (one sentence per value is enough) : Honour to guide our actions, and ensure we stay in the right; Discipline to forge the MRG into an instrument of the Couronne's will, and to ensure we never break or waver in our duty; and Valour to push us ever onwards and upwards in our deeds.
Which is your favourite : Honour; morality is of the upmost importance when dealing with the lives of others, be it as a protector or an attacker.
What is your Discord ID and timezone ?: You already have the first and GMT-5
Will you always remain rational and calm, follow orders, even if the situation could not be worse?: I cannot say, but I swear upon the Couronne that I shall do my best to do so.
