Malta on fire

Following is authorized to read by adequately high ranked personnel of listed factions as well as any and all command and ruling institutions within.

As some of you may had already been aware, The Order has found itself in a state of war with Malta once again. You will no doubt require some explanation as to why it is “again” instead of “still”. Just bit over a year ago The Order Overwatch has been contacted by a sole Don, an influential one going by name Benito Contari. He, representing the greater Council that performs functions of their government, offered to bridge understanding between two warring factions. Having managed to come to terms, National Council had promised to aid us against the Slomon K’Hara or more commonly known as the Nomads. As it is within my powers granted me by badge of my office, I am declassifying entire communication and terms of the Omicron Beta Armistice to your attention. For all intents and purposes this treaty had been rendered void suddenly by recent actions.

ARMISTICE OF OMICRON BETA

Outcasts gained their name by no small feat and cardamine had truly separated their people into separate subspecies of human race. However in my personal opinion, they still represented minority within humanity that The Order pledged to protect. As a military man I took a calculated risk. From ideological point of view, a vision of Malta being part of a front against Nomad homeworlds rather than extensions of alien influence in Sirius was a tempting one. From practical, the year of peace allowed The Order to consolidate gains made in Sigma and Omicron constellations.

It started with The Order routine patrol into Omicron Alpha upon news of Nomad warmorph being sighted within Maltese sovereign space. Under terms of the treaty, our fighters were considered legal entity in Maltese space save for specific areas of cultural and/or religious significance to their people. Unlike what Outcast propaganda may say, The Order had never fired a shot within their space. Our mission was to use their homeworld as shortcut to other areas of operations or to monitor their progress, NOT to police their worlds. One of such patrols encountered Outcasts freely interacting with a GUNBOAT-CLASS Nomad vessel. National Council threw all the agreements we had there and then and allowed combined Nomad-Outcast armada to ENGAGE our ships. What followed was intense offensive launched immediately after our reasonable demand to officially declare war on Nomads and those who are allied with them was rebutted by Don Contari.

As of now, I can speak with lesser burden than few weeks ago. The Outcast offensive was fought to a standstill and neither side can make any significant progress with effective line of control between us two remaining Omicron Beta. Not long ago we received BROADBAND TRANSMISSION to all and any Order operative in Sirius. It consisted of intriguing Maltese "POSTCARD" that content of you should judge with your own very eyes. My initial orders were for The Order’s counteroffensive to mount raids against Malta by synchronizing with known Coalition, Crayterian and Corsair war plans to give us an edge over the enemy. I will not discuss nor apologize for our choice of comrades-in-arms when our war - man against an alien - concerns every single living human being. Standing orders since 800 A.S. were simple: Defeating the Nomads overrides diplomatic disagreements The Order may have with other faction. Post-Toledo 819 A.S. ammendation to this standing directive includes that any Core personnel, or a man known in service or alliance to either Core and Nomad kind is to be treated as priority target despite ongoing wars that might take place. For all intents and purposes, Outcasts are very much fitting the definition: an accessory to Nomad campaign in Sirius.

Golden Chrysanthemums. You had aligned yourself to us in times prior to the short-lived armistice of Omicron Beta. Sisterhood knew perfectly well that The Order and Maltese were in state of varying degrees of conflict for over two decades and the reasons for that are not unknown to both your Elders and regular rank-and-file sisters. We are not your enemy but we will not and cannot afford to tolerate your interference with our Omicron battle plans. We do not subscribe to concepts of Coalition’s communism or Cretan’s imperialist agenda but unlike most of you, we are surrounded by enemies. We do not have GC’s safe backyard protected by huge contingent of Blood Dragons, neither we can enjoy safety of Bundschuh large flank being covered by hordes of Red Hessians. What I can assure you is that such decisions are undertaken on mostly tactical basis and are taken with full consideration to avoid inflicting any short and long term damage to allied and neutral parties.

We refuse to engage in diplomacy with Maltese state. We view them as corrupted, Nomad-influenced entity more concerned with lining their own pockets than continuation of Maltese existence. Treating with Maltese ruling elite is a pointless exercise that only delayed the inevitable for period of one year. I dare to claim that Nomad-aligned elements had never departed Malta in the first place and they merely used it just like us to regroup and facilitate temporary break of hostilities to focus on a different front. The Order goals are quite simple and can be summed up with the following terms:

• Handing over sovereignty of Omicron Beta to The Order Overwatch Protectorate.
  Unrestricted access to alien and cryo-organisms for scientific and economic exploitation.
  
• Summary execution or (if absent) exile of Oracles and anyone involved with Nomad-aligned communities.
  
• Replacing Council of Dons with Order-friendly regime as guarantee to ensure compliance of Maltese state.
  
• Cessation of Malta slave trade.
  

Only then we will be sure that Malta is truly on side of humanity, rather than against it.
