I dunno... Yes the two have been fighting for a long time but they'd gain tons of power and wealth by joining each other - and it's been shown in some message boards and rumors in-game that the rivalry is more one of competition rather than hatred.

It is pretty unlikely that they'd ally with one another, but think of what they'd gain...

Almost every pirate/criminal group in all of sirius is allied with one faction or the other - the two joining together as a house would basically rally every unlawful in the galaxy against the houses.

Liberty might have high tech and a large fleet, but aside from all the criminals that the hispania house would have working for them... they've got the order in allegiance with the corsairs (who would then become an ally of the hispania house) and could provide advanced technology to the cause.

Both factions have enough resources and power to build capital ships. There's outcast NPC destroyers all over omicron alpha.

Combining the cardamine and artifact trade would yield so much profit that they'd be able to construct entire fleets to throw at the houses.

Both outcasts and corsairs have shown themselves to be far better pilots on average than any of the house militaries or police.

With the corsairs and outcasts joining forces, they'd control nearly all of the borderworlds systems... all the omicrons, the taus, the omegas, even the sigmas to some degree.

Corsairs have ties to the hogosha within kusari, who subsequently have a bit of control over the kusari government - it's likely that the hogosha would try to use this as a way to ally with the hispania house to prevent their own destruction. It would also give kusari enough power to completely overthrow bretonia and win their little war, leaving only rheinland (battered and broken) and liberty as the real enemies. All of the resources of the borderworlds, kusari, and bretonia combined against two houses? They wouldnt stand a chance - the two would fall within days.

So be thankful the outcasts and corsairs are still fighting each other, otherwise the entire political structure of sirius would collapse =P
