In any battle there are supply lines of ammo, medics & such, makes sense it would happened in this venue as well. Thinking about it, The ship supplying nanos & batteries is risking itself to do so & lowering it's abilities to repair it's own shields and hull. So basically it evens out. & Capt.Poo just gave me an idea for our groups next large scale battle, Don't know why we never considered taking a repair ship along, makes perfect sense.
Now I wonder if taking a mid sized freighter loaded with missiles, mines & torp's to re arm ships would be pushing it too far?
Just my 2 cents.. (After tax & inflation.. crap I owe money to post.. arrrr!!)
Just a note on your future repair ship.. from my experiences, its always the first to die - so long as you fight at least a bomber or two. They'll take down your shields constantly, so you'll be using up your shield batteries pretty quickly, and once your shield batteries are all gone... a bomber will 1-hit supernova you, therefore scattering all the remaining nanobots into open space up for grabs. In that situation, best thing to do is to throw train CDs at the cluster of nanobots, destroying them all (after picking up what you can).
If you're not facing any bombers though.. good! Just have your repair ship hide behind one of your capital ships or something, heh.
