It is no secret that the various corporate entities of the sector sponsor acts of terrorism against their economic or political competitors, although the exact details are often hidden behind layers of institutional intrigue. The Core, alienated by the presence of ALG Waste Disposal’s Wichter station so close to borders of their claimed space, have been privately sponsoring the Easternmost cells of the Alster Union to attack the disposal company by deliberately ensuring that Core and Unioner patrols rarely intersect one another. Whilst life support systems are nearly entirely efficient, faults in shipboard systems can create toxic condition within life support recycling processes which then require them to be chemically cleaned. Life support systems that have endured battledamage, such as those evidenced within the sigma twenty one war, need to be frequently scrubbed. Usually lasers, microwaves, or neutrons are used for the task, but for system elements with no aerosol exposure to breathing gas or consumed water that contain temperature sensitive components, so-called ‘flushing compounds’ can be used to strip biological and chemical contaminants. Unfortunately, these same compounds are often exceptionally biotoxic and frequently corrosive, capable of incapacitating a human permanently within a matter of minutes, and are only ever kept in significant concentrations whilst chemically activated by contracted ALG vessels, who maintain an unparalleled safety record. Such agents have obvious utility for terrorist groups. Whilst lone wolf actors frequently lack the capability to develop complex chemical weapons, organised underworld groups with numbers in the millions have no such restrictions and rarely need to steal the items of terror from above the law. However, it appears that the Unioners are deliberately attempting to steal ALG proprietary flushing compounds for unspecified purposes, in-part due to the quasi-legality of the material, and due to the obvious damage to ALG’s near-flawless record that a successful theft would represent. The credit-chip flips the other way, however. Just as the Unioners are keen to undermine the ALG at the Core’s request, ALG, in a time of war, stands to gain significant political support from the Kansler and its shareholders alike by demonstrating that the company’s corporate security arm is capable of defending itself against even organised pirate raids. Equally, by showing resilience against paramilitary, ALG gains an in-road to asserting itself within the contested lower Sigmas, in spite of opposition. Currently, the compounds are being held for transit within the cargo hold of the Erdbeben, an armoured resource exploration vessel purchased by ALG from their IMG allies, known to both its crews and the Unioners it has swatted away to be a formidable, capable ship.

We've heard through a leaky sub-executive that the ALG are shipping out some particularly nasty chemicals out near Wichter; proprietary scrubbing chemicals that would put the company on financial ice if they got into the underworld. Let's break some monopolist secrets.

ALG Mission Brief

They might not sound glamorous, but flushing chemicals are highly caustic, toxic and biologically hazardous. We've dispatched the Earthquake to move the product through the unprotected zones of Sigma 15. There should be a large number of Federal rearguard squadrons in the area if we run into trouble and the Earthquake's big guns should protect us against most of the hostiles we could run into. Rules

The ALG team starts with a battle-cruiser instead of a cruiser. This has been balanced by giving UN an additional light cruiser slot. Only ALG OFL can fill the ALG battlecruiser slot. Balance may change upon internal discussions. No troll loadouts (bug or suiciding dependent). Indies are allowed to Join on both sides. No NEMPing. No base running for regens or more munitions. Admin protection is requested to prevent foul play. Have fun!
