[Official Event] - Running the Gauntlet [Draw]

4 hours being stressed out of my skull shooting near-stationary cruisers with novas in an asteroid field while being shot.

This event basically flushes out the spineless aspect of this community that is that no one wants to learn to fly fighters or anything related to them so the constant answer to literally everything on this server is to just log caps in response. It took the development team putting a story event that was at the "mercy" of the players and ruling out snubs is what it took to bring out an old 4.87 tier snub brawl. When the lsc shooting stopped, when people actually started fighting, there was no one sided effortless stampede for either side. The Bretonian playerbase responded with an extremely impressive and drastic snub force to combat the GRN which was far lesser. I had fun fighting a billion snubs which actually requires effort.

But even though I had fun I am still overwhelmed in disgust that this is what it takes to make a fighter-craft based fight of this capacity go down. Everyone is so damn paranoid they have to answer with capital ships every time. There are like 4 factions on this server that present themselves with mixed forces, the rest is just capspam 24/7. I am seriously considering just not bothering with discovery beyond managing activity time when I now know that the community can provide the awesome experiences everyone coming onto this server looks forward to and just chooses not too. "I'd rather fly my cap because its big simple and there's a probability that I will get blues."


Ridiculous, the amount of fighters in that event hosing down bombers proves that people just choose to ignore this class entirely.
