An interesting patrol began at Norfolk. I'd cleared the docking bay and moved to Fort Bush, then to Manhattan and then to West Point as per standard routes. Upon arrival to West Point, I came across two vessels above the station conversing. What was apparently two men talking about pirates soon became a sort of hostage situation, as my scanners had detected a solitary Navy fighter pilot aboard the 'Oder'-class gunship 'DeltaShip'. Numerous demands were made, but to no avail, and Ionic signatures took the ship away before any proper boarding parties could be called in. Engagement would have yielded nothing.
Near this time, a 'Hellhound'-class Rogue gunship, callsign 'Birdie', approached West Point from the east, the L.N.S. Milwaukee arriving shortly thereafter. A long, grueling chase began, and while massive damage was dealt to the craft, it managed to make an emergency landing aboard the pirate outpost at Buffalo.
Personal recommendations are putting the 'Oder'-class vessel on watch, and making local shipping routes aware of the pirate gunship.
