I don't care if the lawfuls gang up on me. I like a challenge. Fairness is what gets people squabbling over silly things. I'm against things like Dock Rape and Capwhoring but when it comes to a battlefield, take the shots as they come my friend. The battlefield is not always fair. Sometimes you have the advantage, and sometimes you do not. I wouldn't whine and complain if LN came after me alone with four fighters. I would duke it out with them. I'm sorry if other people don't have the heart to do it or give up and go home because they are either scared or sure they would not win. The point is to give things a try. -Nothing- beats a try except failure.
I'm for realism, not fairness. I don't think anyone thought it was fair when Germany conquered a lot of Europe and murdered thousands if not millions of innocent lives. I don't think anyone would think it was fair how Rome treated outsiders they conquered. And I don't think anyone would agree that the way Rodney King got the crap beat out of him on the pavement by a gang of cops. Any of that fair? No. It's life though. Life isn't always fair. And neither is what happens in games either.
If fairness was that big a thing on here, there would be a rule about fights. And people would be sanctioned daily for breaking that rule. I see 2 on 1 fights a lot. And this is an extremely rule happy place. If you don't like there isn't a rule, take it up with the Admins and get one made.
I come here to play, to have fun with my free time. If that trader doesn't like being a target, maybe he shouldn't play a moving target. If fairness is that big a deal, log right now and don't come back. No game will ever be completely fair, and neither will life. You have to learn to deal with it, to build a thicker skin, and take the shots as they come like I do.
The very point of Role Playing is to play your role and do what your character would do. To play a life other than the one you currently live or could not live. To have that fantasy and to have fun with it. If you found no enjoyment in your Role Play or your Fantasy, you would not bother with it. Because you are even here shows me you have enjoyment in whatever it is that you do here in a fantasy community of Role Playing.
If everyone took the time to consider what is fair in the heat of the moment, this would be a pretty bland place. Nothing that interesting would go on and really people might not bother with this place.
In the interest of Role Playing I do what I believe my character should do. I make my character do it. As a typist or player I have the best idea of what I want my character to do, say, think, act, or feel. I happen to play an unlawful character. A Pirate. A Smuggler. A Thief. A Murderer. My friend who murdered that trader, was simply portraying a criminal who was doing what comes naturally to him. He murdered him because he didn't have funds and didn't offer anything else of value, even though he could have. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen in real life on TV where they are showing -real- video where robbers murder their victims after getting what they wanted, or because they didn't have what they wanted, ----or---- because they wouldn't comply with their demands. Now if you think killing him was unfair, what if we -really- took our role seriously and murdered him after he gave us what we wanted?
But we don't kill people who make us happy and give us our credits when we pirate them, or something else of value. So you see, there -is- fairness left with us at some point.
