Buenos Dias, Hermano. I'm afraid I can't make this too lengthy, as my life could be at risk.

Today, I was flying the Colibri on a LRRP mission along the far reaches of the Omicron Delta region, as per usual, when my soliton radar pinged a faint, unkown signal ranging about 20 kilos from my position, very close. I would not have picked it up otherwise. Upon investigating this signal, it turned out to be the husk of some derelict cargo ship. The frame matched that of an EL-HiL27 "Rhino" Liberty Freighter. Typically, I would have blown this off as an inevitable victim to the savageries of the Omicrons, but then the Goldfinger Array began to stir.

Yes, hermano, it was one of those signals.

Without hesitating, I strapped up for EVA and proceeded to board the ship through a breach in her hull. The array had specifically tagged the signal source to be near the bridge of the vessel. Along the way through those dark corridors, I passed what was left of the crew, the poor souls.

When I ended up on the bridge, I caught eye of a sealed metal lockbox sitting right by the captain's chair, which I managed to break open with a laser cutter. There sat this... thing. I cannot say for sure what it is, you're probably much better qualified to name it than I am.

As of right now, I am in possession of this artifact. I am on Freeport 11, currently trying to lay low as best I can, but I am unsure as to when someone, human or not, will take interest in my activities. I require the assistance of you or another of our own to retrieve this and get it to a safe place, or the closest thing to it.

The sooner this thing is out of my hands, the better. Please hurry.
