And as for your comment on that.. I am listening, I'm just not taking your opinion and ditching my own. I am a Man and as a Man I make my own opinions and have my own views. I'm sorry if I don't simply break down and praise you for your view or whatever it is you believe I should do. I am my own person and I believe what it is I believe. I do want people to have fun and we are fair when we play.
Hm.
Maybe it's a misunderstanding. I haven't been thinking clearly these past weeks.
(I'm still leaving those posts so it doesn't look like I'm trying to cover something up)
Sorry. Let's try this again.
Likely misunderstandings aside, there are still some issues here.

I hope I don't need to say what's objectionable about this attitude.
Quote:I come here to play, to have fun with my free time. If that trader doesn't like being a target, maybe he shouldn't play a moving target. If fairness is that big a deal, log right now and don't come back. No game will ever be completely fair, and neither will life. You have to learn to deal with it, to build a thicker skin, and take the shots as they come like I do.
Traders are basically the lifeblood of the server. No one likes being a "target", but traders are essential for keeping the game going. Not just because of money - look at a system like Newcastle. How many pirates are active there? Almost none. Why? Becuase there's no traders there. A lack of traders is enough to kill a system, to kill a house. So, this attitude towards "moving targets" is still rather distressing.
(even as someone whose only transports are a pirate freighter and a mining ship that never sees pirates)
Quote:I'm for realism, not fairness. I don't think anyone thought it was fair when Germany conquered a lot of Europe and murdered thousands if not millions of innocent lives. I don't think anyone would think it was fair how Rome treated outsiders they conquered. And I don't think anyone would agree that the way Rodney King got the crap beat out of him on the pavement by a gang of cops. Any of that fair? No. It's life though. Life isn't always fair. And neither is what happens in games either.
This justification here, I think, is part of where the misunderstanding stems from, as it implies that you'd fully support sending four fighters and three gunships after two Corsair fighters, just because something like that could happen in real life.
