Name: Edmund Locke Current or Desired Transponder(s): Euler’s.Wrench Ship Class(es): Serenity Transport Applying For: Citizenship Current Natio Citizenship: None
Biographical Summary:
The Euler’s Wrench is a trading vessel crewed by a varied group of civilians from throughout Sirius. Originally they were owner-operators of an independent pizza business on Manhattan, NY. In 816AS they sold their company and used the funds to purchase a small transport vessel. Swollen with ambition, a shared hunger for space travel and the grandiose profits that planetside folk can only dream of, the crew of Euler’s Wrench managed to eke out a meager existence among the stars for eight years before finally hitting their lucky break in the form of a contract with [MISSING TEXT]. This contract supplied the funds that were eventually spent on their current vessel which they lovingly call "The Wrench". The original crew members still reside on the vessel to date, along with a few additions, and have settled happily into the life of cramped quarters and constant travel demanded of those within the transport industry.
Reason for Application:
To the Immigration Office of Natio Octavarium,
My name is Edmund Locke, captain of the transport vessel Euler’s Wrench. I reach out to you on behalf of myself and my crew - we’re looking for a new place to call home. While none of us are prevented from returning to our varied places of birth, we feel that our talents and interests would be better served as citizens of the eighth nation of Sirius.
The oppressive abuse of power exhibited by the old houses of Sirius has left a sour flavor in our hearts, for when it comes time for them to protect the citizens they so desperately demand loyalty from, they come up short. Gallia thus far has had its way, warmongering with the rest of Sirius while keeping their eyes shut to the benefits that would come from peace and cooperation. The actions of the other houses towards this existential threat have thus far been worse than lackluster, toeing the line of foolishness. It is time for our progress as freelance traders to end, for our sweat to be shed towards a greater cause, and for our actions to reflect our moral compass.
It is this crew’s humble belief that Natio Octavarium stands in a keystone position to hobble the war effort of the Gallic Royal Navy while bolstering trade within western Sirius; the Octavarium may be small, but it is by no means negligible, and its size only lends itself to the rapid growth we see in its future. The Natio’s laws are just, its enemies true, and we hereby offer our loyalty, our cargo hold, and our collective voice; all that was ask in return is citizenship and its implicit privileges and protections as outlined in the Law.
Thank you for your time and consideration, sincerely,
The Crew of Euler's Wrench
// OORP Section Discord Tag: Already In Contact Time Zone: -7:00 UST Have you been sanctioned in the last two years? Negative, nor was I sanctioned during my previous time here (10 years ago). What made you want to join NO-? I find the concept of the faction engaging and interesting, and the quality of the faction posts excellent. I like its vibe. How much experience do you have in roleplaying, both Discovery and otherwise? Little - Disco is the only place I’ve participated in roleplay, but I believe the roleplay aspect of the server gives it meaning beyond that of a non-RP multiplayer experience. I'm here for the community and the shared fiction-making; growing as a roleplayer will be an important part of my time here, I'm sure. What is your favourite ship class for PvP? None, I’ve never been much into PvP due to a poor connection. I plan to remedy this within the next few weeks, at which point I’ll be happy to jump into some PvP oriented characters. I’d like to explore the usefulness of Light Fighters in particular.
