Frankly, I'm also tired of seeing people taking their OORP grudges about being ganked onto the forums, and I'm also tired of seeing people switch to different characters and retaliate against the same faction, or even target players' other known characters.
Considering that it is a roleplay server, it is OORP to expect the rest of a factions' pilots to stand by and watch to make a fight even. Within roleplay, a faction should be showing up with whatever it has ready. It is good for the quality of roleplay interaction and gameplay for people to at least attempt to make interactions fair from time to time, but they don't need to be fair a hundred percent of the time. Sometimes you're outnumbered. Sometimes you're outgunned. Sometimes your ship gets blown up. That's the name of the game.
What sense would it make if a faction of violent criminals were to "fight fair"? What sense would it make for the rheinland military to use a fair, equal amount of personnel to stop said criminals? Obviously, they would send as many people as they need and have available. Sometimes RHA gets ganked. Sometimes RM gets ganked. And sometimes it's an even fight, but one side or the other still wipes the board. As long as it's not always the same faction getting ganked, or doing the ganking, then it's fine. If you think that it isn't happening both ways, that is because of your observational bias as you remember the incidents that upset you, where you were ganked, and forget the incidents that don't upset you, where you were ganking.
Now, is a dozen people logging on instantly to gank a single person, over and over again, quite distasteful and detrimental to the quality of gameplay? Yes. Such a thing is despicable. But, most of the time that people are complaining, this is not the case. It's usually an isolated incident, in which case it is not an issue.
However, a faction ganking or being ganked a few times a week is just how it goes. While people rage and fight on the forums about the few ganks a week that happen for each faction, adding up to a few dozen ganks a week, each faction is also having dozens of quality interactions, adding up to hundreds of quality interactions, that don't make it to the forums, because people are more concerned with complaining than they are with appreciating one another.
More people playing is a good thing. Be thankful that you have so many people to enjoy playing with. Sometimes they're on your side, and sometimes they're against you. Work on making an even fight whenever possible, and accept the occasions when it doesn't work out that way. Complain a little bit on discord for a few minutes if you're upset about it; but don't hold a grudge. What would Freelancer be without competing factions?
