I may be young, but I've minded my mining for a long time. I've mined for DSE back when Humboldt was rich with Copper and Silver, but lately I've mostly mined for ALG. We don't haul normal scrap and waste like we used to; I've been mining the good stuff. Premium scrap, and Military Salvage.
In my DSE days, they needed me because I could mine, and protect the fields, all with the same setup, something not a lot of corporate employees could do. The same skills came in handy working for ALG, when they sent me to Bering, a system loaded with pirates. Only, I wasn't protecting "their" fields, anymore. I was protecting myself. After I barely survived defeating a few Unioner pilots who were determined to run me out of their fields, I knew I wasn't getting paid enough for this.
Earlier today, I'd collected 80,000 units of scrap and left them in space for future customers, something I'm only able to do because of my ability to protect it. A few congressmen came to pick it up, and one of them told me that the Congress could use the skills of a man as proficient as myself. Knowing that the Junkers are far more welcome there than ALG, I knew where I'd be better off. Besides, in the time I've spent working these fields, I've grown to like the sort I meet in Bering in oppose to the defenseless corporates I met working elsewhere.
How fast can you repair a broken Salvager?: Faster than you can bring me the scrap from the wreck of the ship that damaged it.
How good are you at selling Premium Scrap to a stranger?: I can sell scrap to a salvager. With mining equipment.
What would you do if you get caught smuggling by a member of law enforcement? What about if you're stopped by a bandit while smuggling?:
If I'm stopped by law enforcement, it depends on the situation. If they're in a position to make enemies for us, I'll drop the cargo, and take it as a loss. If nobody's around to hear them scream, I'll donate some plasma, and add their remains to the newly emptied space in my cargo hold.
If I'm stopped by a bandit, I'll offer him a beer and a dogfight story. If that's not good enough, I'll give the coordinates of what's left of him after a congressional laser debate, to the congress so you know where you can get your next load of scrap.
What knowledge do you possess of the Puerto Rico systen, if any?: Vieques can fix your ship faster than you can dock it, and Junker Town has a pretty good bar.
What ships do you already own?: What ships don't I own?
The Junkers are a group of smugglers and black market traders who maintain a legal front through scrap peddling. They are rumored to deal with a lot of unlawful factions, but are enemies of the Xenos and the Hogosha.
Pilot carrying this quasi-lawful ID is a member of the Junkers, who:
- Can attack any ships in self-defense, to protect another Junker ship, or in defense of a Junker base.
- Can demand cargo and credits from ships outside of Rheinland, Liberty and Bretonian house space, and attack them if they do not comply.
- Can attack Xenos and Hogosha anywhere.
- Cannot use any transport with more than 4,300 cargo.
