Okay, I've noticed in my time here that people seem to think alliances exist out of nothing.. A cease fire is FAR FROM an alliance. A cease fire is a step down for a peace treaty.

The definition of cease fire;
1: a military order to cease firing
2: a suspension of active hostilities

No alliance, not even a peace treaty. Simply an agreement not to shoot each other.

Now yes, the BLS have a bit more with GMG right now, but can you expect anything less from smugglers? The BLS aren't a military like the RoS and 101st. They are concerned more with profits and smuggling than they are in fighting their enemies. So any victory of diplomacy is worth more than a victory of battles. Further; The GMG have their hands full with Corsairs (who regularly GB spam the GMG, hence the reason they are using more capships) and don't want to have to deal with Outcasts who would leave them alone as easily as GMG would leave the Outcasts be. A deal of common hostility against the Corsairs is just an evolution from the already-present situation of both having to fight. The GMG can't stand up against both the Corsairs and the Outcasts, so it would make sense to fight only the one they need to. If the Outcasts are willing not to pirate in GMG space, what would be the reason for a continual war? There is none.

Equinox, you need to calm down the conspiracy theory machine. I had legitimate concerns over the Corsairs restricting capships because it sounded like they were trying to take control of them in the thread concerning it. When I was told that wasn't the case I backed off.. But what were the first things you and McNeo thought? Dab is out to get us.. Thats the exact same thing you have going here, except instead of Dab its everyone. Everyone is not out to get the Corsairs. The GMG couldn't stand a chance against both the Corsairs and Outcasts when they have no miliary support from Kusari or Rheinland. They wanted to rid themselves of one enemy so they stood a chance against another. This deal hardly means the OC and GMG are gonna group up and hunt down every Corsair in Sigma-13. I am guessing the OC would just as soon let the GMG handle it than risk their own ships.

Lets say Kusari was at war with Liberty and Bretonia both.. Don't you think Kusari would attempt to negotiate a cease fire with Liberty so they can focus on Bretonia and NOT get conquered? That would be common sense to do. If they weren't able to take both, the first step is to make one of them a neutral party, or even a common enemy with Kusari's enemy.

Mwerte, your right, this isn't the real world.. However, it can and does use real world politics. Just because its a game doesn't mean it can't be based on real life.. So what it is.. Fake politics? Alien politics? I think all the factions are still human. I fail to see how real people living on this planet called Earth aren't allowed to have politics like the real politics on this planet.
However, you actually ARE right in saying that factions should be allowed to do something without it being immediately public.. The only people aware of this deal with the Outcasts should be those present at the negotiations with 101st, those who were a part of the deal with BLS, and then the Outcasts and GMG given orders not to shoot one another.. Bounty Hunters wouldn't know. Corsairs wouldn't know. No one but the two involved factions would know, with exceptions of people who were involved in making this happen.
