Greetings.
This is Rell Harrow.
I am a congressman of the Junker Congress.

I come to you with a somewhat strange request. One of our pilots had a conversation about this with Admiral von Ehrenberg of the Rheinland Military and was redirected to the civilian channels.
I would like to request that I and my apprentice in learning, Alexander Behrens, be allowed to fly a Z-8550 "Pitbull", also commonly known as a "Pirate Train", inside Rheinland space.
While the vessel does not seem to be under any restrictions within Rheinland, I learned that registering it could help with the prevention of what the Admiral called "misunderstandings".
So far, it has not been constructed, as I would like to request and hopefully acquire permission first.

This brings us to my reason for use of the vessel. Junkers often work in hazardous environments. These hazards include but are not limited to weapon fire, explosive gas clouds and, most importantly, strong radition. Most vessels cannot be reinforced without offsetting their balance, which is important for atmospheric entry of any kind. I originally planned to reinforce a different ship until I came across rudimentary construction plans for this vessel type. Most radiation absorbant materials are very heavy and would either unbalance the vessel, preventing it from landing on any planet, or would need to be spread evenly, which would drastically increase the mass and thus make it much slower.
The Z-8550 is barely more than a strong engine with a few cargo containers strapped to it. The position of the cockpit would allow me to reinforce the armour with radiation absorbing materials where necessary without unbalancing the ship, as the main weight would be placed in the immediate vicinity of the engine. This would allow for a minimal increase in drag force while greatly increasing the protection of the health of my crew. This might become a pilot project for the future of the Congress and its members, pun unintended.
