✠ "Phi" Sensor Network

• First layer:
Each node contains technology known as Quantum Key Distribution that generates Entangled photons which can be separated by light-years of distance, but when their spin is observed at exactly the same time, the sibling particle is always of the opposite spin. These nodes are powered by an internal fusion reactor, coupled with eletro-magnetic shield (superconductors) that can convert sun-wind into electricity, and a pair of solar panels should the other systems fail.

• Second layer:
Each node generates a new pair of encryption keys after every message and connection is never longer than the duration of a data exchange between nodes, which in effect, creates only bursts of information instead of continual communication which could be played with.

• Third layer:
A method of achieving the spreading of a given signal is provided by the modulation scheme. With DSSS, the message signal is used to modulate a bit sequence known as a Pseudo Noise (PN) code; this PN code consists of a radio pulse that is much shorter in duration (larger bandwidth) than the original message signal. This modulation of the message signal scrambles and spreads the pieces of data, and thereby resulting in a bandwidth size nearly identical to that of the PN sequence. In this context, the duration of the radio pulse for the PN code is referred to as the chip duration. The smaller this duration, the larger the bandwidth of the resulting DSSS signal; more bandwidth multiplexed to the message signal results in better resistance against interference.
  • DSSS phase-shifts a sine wave pseudorandomly with a continuous string of pseudonoise (PN) code symbols called "chips", each of which has a much shorter duration than an information bit. That is, each information bit modulates a sequence of much faster chips. Therefore, the chip rate is much higher than the information signal bit rate.
  • DSSS uses a signal structure in which the sequence of chips produced by the transmitter is already known by the receiver. The receiver can then use the same PN sequence to counteract the effect of the PN sequence on the received signal in order to reconstruct the information signal.


• Fourth layer:
While regular communication occurs, Nodes "ping" each other with random amounts of data to observe the health of each given node and report the neighbouring nodes about the current health of the network. Anyone with "client" node can use the network if they have been granted access. Upon connecting, their vessel is scanned and information about it archived. If there would be somebody capable of spoofing identity of a client that has access, the network for that purpose compares current information about the vessel with what's stored in archives. Should the client be marked as untrustworthy, there's always the ability of receiving party silently dropping the message without noticining the sender about its arrival.

• Fifth layer:
Custom hardware based on quantum effects of the microspace than electricity, encapsulated inside what would seem like ordinary integrated circuits. With specialized Real-Time Operating system built from scratch, oriented towards security and effectivity with minimal requiremenets to function.



A simple rule was employed during the creation of this entire project "Always assume everyone is trying to cheat the system"


Currently, only authorized Maltese forces have access to the Sensor network.
