I think most people here can discern fantasy from reality.

One of the strategies of modern day rightwing extremists / racists / historical revisionists is to deliberately blur the lines between jokes / fantasy and reality, so they can claim innocence and blend in with a crowd of people who really only see it as jokes / fantasy, and then rile that crowd up against anyone who objects to their "jokes", which will be their political enemies.

Not to delve too deeply into politics here, but I rarely see this from the right, I actually see this tactic mainly from the left. "So you feel insulted by my article? Can't you see this was just satire?"

As a centrist myself I find either end of the political spectrum disturbing.
