This is not that hard to explain:
One of the gunstars, Moros was Doom being online after looooong time... Doom is an exeptional GB pilot. Another gunstar was my Moravia, which is my favourite ship and I try to be at least as good as 1/2 Doom. Out of the two vipers, one was a 2-3 years old vet and another one was a good fighter too, so we raped the Outcasts like a LN battleship rapes Xeno NPCs...

Even worse thing was, that Outcasts did not regroup, all ships were coming one by one... What would you expect to happen in a fight like that? :D
About your points: I do agree with 3, 5 and partially 4.

I think we're talking about different battles here, there were no gunboats or anything on the CR side during the fight I was in - I think they just had 5 vipers.

I was ticked off big time after that battle. We had like 4-5 sabres, I think three falcatas, a rogue gunboat, and even an outcast destroyer fighting on the outcast side...

Gunboat died.
Couple sabres died.
Destroyer died.
I died.

Only one viper was down by that point... that's just pathetic flying on the outcast side of things.
