There has been an unexpected development. Duke Valentin Trintignant of Burgundy has grown bolder and declared himself Grand Duke. He has also authorized the surrender of the fleets defending Ile-de-France, brokering an uneasy ceasefire with the Council. If you're into Gallic politics, you can check the news article attached to this message; I don't have the time to explain all the events.
What matters are the implications. Gallia is fragmented now, with the Grand Duchy of Burgundy, the Minarchy of Provence, and the newly-formed Republique of Gallia being the main players. Ile-de-France remains autonomous, and will likely be the place where the new powers will try to reach consensus where Gallia should go. In the meantime, the bulk of the remaining forces de la Marine Royale are still in Gallic Hebrides, with Escadron XXII among them. But most importantly, the fight for the capital is over. At this rate, some of you may return to your homes on New Paris soon enough.
This disarray gives us new challenges. If revanchism gains traction in Liberty, Bretonia, or Kusari, they could attempt to attack Gallia while we're at our weakest. However, the fragmentation and sudden shifts of system allegiance also give us a perfect window to infiltrate the powers that rule Gallia. That's why I'm activating Protocol "Unité".
You all know what it means. Wherever the current shift of power caught you, keep a low profile. Work your way up the ladder, into the military and civilian authorities. Implement projects "Silence" and "Parole" discreetly. Don't disclose the true nature of our work to anyone outside the inner circle. It may take months, years, or decades. Only our children or grandchildren might benefit from our work, and even they might not know what we've done. But if we succeed, we'll leave them with a stronger, safer, united Gallia.
