The only "abuses" I have personally seen are Bounty Hunters and rogue "groups" centered around cap ships that roam intermittently--and usually end up sanctioned within a week or so.
I'm noticing these groups of unaffiliated players with big ships and they seem to come out of nowhere quite often.
They are either newly created chars by power traders here who have a ton of cash or they are "invaders" (my term).
people from other servers who come in and change the mine area attributes to "super mine".
I'm wondering if the Disco flac version catches this as raising the prices wouldn't change things there.
I am against faction "control" of ship purchases--way to much potential for abuse.
The admin approved licenses would have some potential--if the decision process was not tied to factions in any way (my opinion again).
But I honestly think the only recurrent cap abuse problem is these itinerant players who come on and group trade to buy cap ships and have a "crime spree" with them.
Does flac catch the changes to mining variables here? We obviously have had a swarm of cheat attempts lately and this hack is exactly what is first tried by such cheaters.
And Jinx, I think it keeps getting readdressed because the problems still remained unresolved--from all sides--not one or the other.
...and I'm really hurt that I don't get to be a genius too :P
Addendum: I would like to add... I'd be all for admin approved factions being given some ability to grant approval for cap ship licenses. I think they can do a good job of that--but there must be an alternative to going to them for the license. Whether admin approved a panel submission or whatever.
I would think that would satisfy both parties and end the feud part of this. that pops up now and then. Good suggestions Tenacity and others.
