You could just be a radical change and take over the faction to be more aggressive/forceful tech absorption rather than neutral/preservative/secretive, which I wouldn't mind.

That is exactly what we are! Except that neutrality and preservation. Those are two things we very rarely touch if not at all.
Yeah, a uh, change, as I said, to be what you are instead.
