Motivation for joining the Bretonia Armed Forces:
Short biography: Born to a humble common family of four on Leeds. Her parents, who conceived their eldest daughter in teenage-hood, adopted the life of factory workers in the vast industrial districts of the planet. As such, they were unable to provide the best possible education to Amelia - or at the very least, the education she had hoped to receive.
She studied foreign languages in the University of Leeds, pursuing a job in that domain for only a brief period after her graduation and certification. Instead, inspired by her youngest uncle John - an armed forces officer, she decided to put both her luck and resolve to test as she put her name for enlistment in the Armed Forces' reserve forces.
Transferred to Welbeck base on Leeds, she received her basic training and combat training for the first few months before continuing on to the more advanced and specific training courses. Despite her expectations of herself, she proved to have had a knack for the military life. Strong dedication and motivation, which seemed to be a trait flowing through the blood of her family line, as well as a fit physical build and prowess in space combat, gave her the position to be on the right track for an honorable end of training period.
The new fighter pilot took her first active service flight just in time of the Gallic invasion of the planet. She spent almost the entirety of the first year repelling landings and attempted bombing runs on resistance and civilian positions. In an unfortunate mixture of both bad luck and lack of experience, Amelia found herself in a smoking fiery fighter after being targeted by a Gallic interception squadron. The crumbling fighter crashed behind enemy lines with no sign of an ejection to be seen by spotting elements.
Declared M.I.A with no possible way of recovering the possible corpse of the downed pilot, later investigations changed the status to K.I.A as the ship was too damaged for any chance of survival, and the discovery of a destroyed escape pod not too far from the crash site with an excessively charred corpse inside. Due to either negligence or hastiness and lack of proper evidence to reject an assumption in dire times of war, the corpse was presumed to be of Amelia's.
Instead, it appears to be that Amelia just barely managed to eject her own escape pod as her own flaming ship collides with her wingmate's pod, destroying and torching it. Isolated and wounded, Amelia managed to pop her jammed pod open and sneaked towards the unknown, hoping to find any insignia, uniform or outfit that did not resemble that of the Gallic Royalists. Eventually found by an isolated small platoon of Bretonian marines with little means of communication. Somehow, the platoon managed to survive on its own with little means of communication with operational command.
Somehow the platooned managed to live off guerrilla warfare, covert operations and raiding both civilian and gallic supply warehouses and stores. Amelia's convictions and motivation to remain planet-side and assist with the war effort only grew stronger. Remaining there for the rest of the occupation period until the catastrophic glassing of the Planet. She boarded one of the last few shuttles that evacuated off the planet.
