Captain's log, peronal; Stardate...


Aww Hell, Screw the formalities, This is the personal log of Captain Alex Greenwood, aboard the Rogue Gunship Hunter. I have just been apointed command of her, and her crew. Ger crew consits of 6 memebers, other than myself. I'll suppose I'll amke some notes about them;

Our Second in command, and Radio Operator is my Brother Chris. He is about 5'6, nearly 6 inches shorter than I, even though he is 32 years ould, almost a full 5 years older.We both have the same deep brown hair, We wears his short, cropped close to the head, where as mine is long and flowing, almost down to my shoulders. And of course we share the only outstanding family trait, deep blood red eyes. He is smart man, and he knows how to keep his cool in a hot situation. He keeps to himself, and is very shy though.

Next up, we have our Scanner operator Ellen Worron. Probaly the single best Operator, this side of New Berlin, she can spot a single ejection pod, 5 km away and ID the pilot in uder 13 seconds. Not only is she deadly efficent at her job, but she is dammied easy on the eyes. 5'6'' with long red hair she wears up in a pony tail when she works. She's got the face of an angle, and the body of a bloody temptress. That said, I'd not want to get involved with her; I've heard rumors of her, making any man whom hurt her wish he was dead to the point of most killing themselves... I shudder at the thought.

To close off the Bridge crew, we have our Gunner, Victor Hansen. He's a noivce gunner, not muck experince, lots of useless book learning, but he's the best I could find at short notice, he's young to boot, not a day over 21. Ah... Well the boy's got lots of character. He'll be fine, and pick up the skills he needs in a hurry. I've got no doubt in my mind.

The rest of our Crew works down in the ngine room. The only one I actualy Hired was Scot Mcfarline. He use to be a engineer on a Molly Gunship in the days when the rebelion was going strong, but since then, he has grown tired of Bretonian politics and moved norrth, to Liberty. He told me he'd hire the help he needed, so long as I gave him a budget to work with. Heh, I trust the man, he's spent more hours in a similar engine room than most people spend in the washroom all their lives. I gave him the go ahead to hire whom he wanted, Haven't actualy seen to much of them, I saw them when we left port, but not since then.

Moving on, we left port this morning late. We had planned to ship off by 0600 hours, but the Main Batteries we order off of the Order, 2 Gunboat Class Battle Razors, and 2 Gunboat Class Infernos Came in late last night and where not ready for flight till 0900 hours. Regardless, we took flight. We cruised around the main patrol routes for a while. Around almost 1300 hours, I felt the crew was ready for some real action, we shut down a trade lane near Mojave in California and pirated several Trasnports, We cofinscated several hundered light arms, 450 litters of H-fuel, along with 1.5 million credits. We where set for the day, we had broken even and had enough fuel to last of a few weeks of solid operation. I decided we would put the ship to the test.

We crept up on West Point Military Academy in New York, acording to the communications we where picking up, a large number of the people on board had the week off, and the secruity staff was far understaffed. We decided to get in close, after eliminating a few fighters and many a transport, West Point seemed to clam up not letting anyone out or in. I looked over at Chris and told him to get on the horn and tell them we want 3 million credits or we would open fire on the station. Chris looked hesitant, but continued either way. Several radio relays on the station responded all laughing that we could not breech the armor of the station either way. I realised the Ellen, was already probing for weeknesses. "Where's the weakest point on that station Ellen, how thick is that armor there?" I knew that's what she was looking for and she didn't hesitate to respond "Near the Docking bays sir, no thinker than 10 feet" she said. Good I thought, I looked over at Victor to ask him if we could break it open and before I could say anything he said "Sir, we don't have enough firepower to destroy that armor, but if we could get enough rounds into a contained area, we could begin to melt it, the heat generated by the Razors hitting it could in theory melt them clear off". I stopped for a second, I had not expected Victor to respond so quickly, nor know what I wanted. I was shocked. I suppose their is alot of hope for that boy. "Good" I responded back, "Chris, tell them they have 30 seconds to offer that money up or we open fire." I barked out "Aye, sir" He responded. "This the the RGS Hunter you have 30seconds to agree to our offer or we open fire West Point" More laughing from the stations on West Point followed the message. Enough was enough, they had their chance.
Ready weapons Victor... Fire on my mark... Ready... Steady... Fire" Victor opened up, firing the Razors alternatingly, leaving a continous pounding on the Bay door of West Point. The crew seemed to Hold it's breath, the tension in the air grew as more laughing could be heard from the station.several seconds passed and nothing seemed to happen. "Victor... What's taking so long.. this better work" I said, I could see him sweating under his collar, sweat was beading under his short blonde hair. "It should work sir, gve it 15 seconds." I held my breath and waited... The seconds crawled by and then we saw it. The door Began to bend. The laughter stopped from the station. Slience crept over the comunication Frequncies for what seemed to be a second, and then they opened up, Distress messages going out in all directions, being spit out at almost triple the normal rate. Being spit out like a army of invisible ants sent to meet an unknown Picnic. More time passed, and the pounding continued, the door looked physical week now, it was bowed inwards to a dangerous extent, the temperature inside the bay must have been above 65
Degrees Celcuis, and climbing. and that's when it happened. A huge impact hit the side of the ship, shuddering it down to it's very core, and causing Chris and Ellen to fall from their seats. "What was that Ellen!" I screamed. " Liberty Cruiser main Gun fire sir, Direct hit" She responded furiously "Sheilds are low sir, that hit took alot out of us" Chris added, I made a quick decsion" Victor, cut fire, Chris take evasive action, get us outta here, head for Buffalo!" I ordered, I clicked on the Comuncations to the Engineering Deck, "Scot, Full power to the Engineis, we gotta make a dash now", I said into comunicator, "Sir, we'll do our best, but tha' 'it, it took alot o' power out-ta us." He replied sounding slightly worried. "Do your best Scot, out" I said as I clicked the communicator off. The ship began to groan as the engines adjusted to the huge amounts of power they where being given. We quickly sped off and out of Range of the cruiser. It Appeared not to follow.

"Good work crew, One hell of a first day, let's get back to port and patch this glorified tugboat up." I said as we left. And that's what we did, it's a hell of alot for a first day, and a prelude of what's to come as I see it.
