Quote:Population problem? Actually, slow but steady growth, we cannot bother. Those with money can always afford artificial insemination and even pregnancy in artificial womb. Given, that Maltese population is quite rich, this is not a problem to afford for a significant share of the population.
Is there anything left that you are going to game away from the Outcasts? It seems that you are rich beyond what people can imagine, are having a substantial military force at hand, are in absolute control over the Cardamine markets and its research and now you ruled out the one essential downside that Cardamine had.
I am genuinely curious, what is the limit your are pushing?
I liked playing as an Outcast at first when I came around. It seems having a rich and interesting lore but you are making it harder by the day to like Malta.
Artificial insemination and artificial womb are quite readily available nowadays. To assume this tech is not available in a fancy future where every cheapest ship has access to miraculously assembling the damaged parts of the ship nanobots or communication based on quantum entanglement principle is quite silliy. Powergaming? Lol, I never stated that our population was booming as in Nigeria. I said it was steadily growing. If you are fine with math - take the simplest demographics formula (you can read up the basics here) and calculate the net growth of Maltese population, that has been more or less steady regardless pitfalls given that over 800 years, including first 400+ years of Maltese isolation the population grew to 480 million people. With negative or zero net population gain that would be impossible. Simple math, eh? Cardamine by lore does not make people infertile. It makes people LESS fertile. It does not negate the population growth. It just means that for a successful natural insemination Maltese might need 1000 sexual acts instead of, say, 10. Given longer Maltese life, liking of different kinds of catering for flesh and luxury, and income of slaves - not an issue at all.
Speaking of cardi. Well, as far as I know, both in vanialla and in Disco the sole producer of Cardamine are outcast. We barely RP the monopolisation, it is just given per se. If any other Maltese faction arises that trades Cardi - they will have their market share and would only facilitate their RP. Powerish? Yeah, sure.
Speaking of the fleet. The RP fleet of OC is on par with the Corsairs. Depending on the sources it is 7-9 battleships (Durandal). It is not as powerful as a house, surely, but compared to zoners I can use the figure of speech "grand armada" for how many BS inRP do zoners have? The matter is in comparison. Besides, in my comms I can use any figures of speech, regardless they are truth or not. That is called rhetorics.
Now, to your "liking of OC and RP". From my perspective, your RP wit hus or others from the very point of starting from here are barely coherent attempts at RPing a Chaotic Neutral char (or I have no idea hoiw such lack of any ense can be explained). Later, you went with RPing your little cardamine project with cringy stuff akin to "doens of prisoners to be slaughtered" for no scientific reason. You basically intended to do scientific RP without actually doing ANY science. Now, you want to grow Cardi somewhere outside of Malta thinking it would backfire Malta. There are two problems with that: 1) It would eventually only benefit Malta as the cardi consumer base would expand, hence, the market. 2) there is a reason why nobody can achieve inRP success in growing Cardi elsewhere, as it would really be a powergaming that would turn Malta in OP due to already existing industry of Cardi production that would quickly take the largest share of market. Addicted cannot live without Cardi save for Stabiline, so it would just mess up the whole diplomacy in sector. If that was possible, surely the infocard of Galicia Research Station would not say what it says and 100500 OC factions that have existed before would have surely RPed that. You want to continue that RP - you surely can, we won't obstruct. I just fyi want to point out that you wanted in your recent RP to infiltrate Soledad. Read the infopage thereof carefully - all electronics die there rather fast. The only possible way to get there - using shuttles from nearby station (or from our POB). In perspective, a space lift can be constructed but is not available atm. So you have very scarce options of getting planetside. Even if you do get there - get ready to be in information void as electronics die and you won't be able to communicate with the rest of your accomplices. To what I write all of this - before thinking of others' RP, please consider your own. I did not bash your attempts at doing sci RP without science, actually. I will not try to stop whatever you are trying to do with Soledad. But please, do mind the logic.
