A State Visit

They would be first guided to their rooms and given time to clean up, or even change clothes if required. It would be roughly an hour before an aide came to collect them. Once more it would be a gentleman in full coat and tails, clearly household staff, and this time he guided them to a banquet hall. A long table sat in the centre of the room, but there was only four places set. One of the seats was high backed, clearly a throne in its own right. There was a place set beside it, and two places opposite them. Powell would be offered the seat beside the throne

After they had all been seated, the doors at the opposite end opened, and Carina herself stepped through. A young lady stepped up to the throne, pulling it back ready for Carina to sit. Once she had sat down, members of serving staff would approach each individual, offering champagne first of all to everyone present. They would also notice chefs bringing food through, placing the silver platters upon the table for them to choose their meals from. Carina turned to the President
