Tori had been sitting on the bed, legs crossed, staring into space for a while. She could hear the footsteps but didn't think anything of it until Amy spoke. She stayed where she was, watching the empty wall. The room was dark.
"when you've been alone with your thoughts for so long, they start to talk back."
She sounded distant, not like it bothered her, but more as if she was deep in thought and stating a fact
"I've decided I'm not my own friend, I don't enjoy my own company."
She shook her head and looked across toward the door.
