Is there anything like lorewise/storywise etc. known if the Poole->Alberta-Gate will be opened?

Any link/info/help to get into that storry or reasons about the Britany Warships around the gate etc. would be greately appreciated.
I am curious and cant find much about it.

Asking for a friend of a friend of a possible corsair btw.
