Taking the seat on the opposite, Ezrael deeply inhaled and exhaled once. He did not expect the agent to give him a clear answer on what the Order was doing in Bretonia with the Nomad Power Cell. Still, it would have been nice to hear any explanation that would make sense, anything that would put the Order's reputation into a more positive light. Anything that would justify the actions they had been involved in, the attack on Freeport 11 or the Tau scenario.

At least Solandros seemed charismatic enough to make dealing with him not entirely unpleasant. "Words can only tell so much, Agent. It'd be the same word on neutrality as you'd give me on the Order and your allies and contractors not hunting us."

For a moment, he looked around, taking in the scenery around them. Corinth had changed a little since their latest longer stay. The station was now hidden inside the nebula, and the windows and monitors showing the surroundings of the station made that pretty clear. It felt a bit like Livadia now. "The Apahanta became quite the jack of all trades over the past years. She had to. In the beginning, we were heavily relying on supplies from the Zoners, who helped us leaving the Core during the Core-Zoner-Conflict in 823. Back then we were actively looking for any house or faction that would welcome us, or at least not fire at us the moment we show up. As a lone warship, we had only so many capabilities, not even a jump drive. Bretonia gave us a chance to prove ourselves and we took it, and that made assisting Bretonia in the Tau operation so important."

He paused for a moment, shaking his head, sighing. "At least it seemed important back then. Now everything is different. Diplomacy changed, Bretonia took Canaria, you're suddenly on good terms with the Zoners again. We have our own contacts now, have a jump drive and advanced cloaking capabilities, even gas collectors and mining and processing modules installed. Most of what we need we can actually get ourselves now. We're also, for a lone, unaffiliated entity, quite strong, mobile and reputable. Of course not in a position of power over anything, but that's something we're not interested in anyway. These political and combative plays over planets and stations and territory, we don't need to be part of that. We don't need to fight in the wars of other people."

Ezrael eyed Solandros. "To us, there is no point in fighting anyone, just to please someone else. The only battle the Apahanta will partake in is the one for our own survival. Self-defense. I see no reason to pester the Order, and while I can't deny I am still curious about some of your questionable motives here and there, I don't need to care. Because literally every organization has those questionable motives, and I don't need to learn about the truths behind these motives. Call me egoistic, but I do think we're living in a universe where it is a lot easier for everyone to mind their own businesses. That is what I would like to do. Have my ship and my crew and exist at the periphery of Sirius, minding our own businesses without interfering with those of others. That is probably the best assurance I can give you."
