Quickdocking which is the way people dodge being killed is about as sound inRP as dodging being killed by hugging a planet and saying you crashlanded to avoid death.
Just like assaulting a station to chase a blue makes sense InRP if you have no concept of death because by gameplay mechanic. You respawn.
Just as much as assaulting any capital ship in your fighter lacks sense as you have no concept of death from its point defense system. Except 5 fighters can kill a capital ship. And a lot of stations are smaller than a battleship.
EDIT: Also I'm fairly sure I've seen NPCs around hostile stations. They don't survive long but they are there and fighting the station and its defenses.
Yeah, there being no fear of death leads to some stupid shit. But it is what it is xd
