The point here is to steer people into making some kind of an actual character. If you bring me something about an AI like Zapp's Carina, then by all means have an automated destroyer, but as it stands people will write a few lines about Hal 9000 killing his crew, taking over the ship and enjoying himself on a Sirius-wide tour. Na-ah. Not on my watch.
