Lupas awoke to bright lights, a clinical atmosphere surrounding him. The quiet "Beep... Beep..." of the heart rate monitor beside him.

Lupas went to sit up, but found himself almost unable to move, his limbs stiffer than he'd ever felt. Combat training in the academy had never left him feeling this bad, and he'd gone toe to toe with some of the best "The Order" could throw at him, not always by choice of course.

The Order. A momentary panic rushed through him, before the training kicked in, forcing himself to slow his breathing. He had to make contact, call Logan, or Douglas, or Yohance, or even Emmure... No, of course not. Lupas hadn't heard from them in months. He had set out to find whoever remained but then...

A tray clattered to the floor

Oh my lord, you're awake

He turned, as much as he could manage, to look at the individual who had entered. A young lady, evidently a nurse by the uniform, carrying something that now lay scattered across the floor.

He went to speak, but it was no more than a wheeze. How long had he lain here to be stiff as a board, and unable to speak

Please, Mr, uh, Wolf, lie still. You've been in a coma..

A coma? And Mr? He was clearly a...

...for about 5 months now. We've taken care of you, and we'll have you back on your feet in no time, I'm sure!

The smile, clearly trying to hide the worry in her eyes. He'd trained for years to be able to read people, had to, in his line of work. She was a civilian, not used to hiding how she truly felt from someone who knew where to look.

He couldn't talk, that much was clear, and sitting up wasn't going to happen but if he could...

Did you... did you move your finger?

He tried again, definite movement this time. A twitch, only in his little finger.

It was all he needed.

Hope.

A small glimmer was enough. After all, there's work needs doing. And Lupas.

Lupas is a Judge.
