A group of Enclave Navy ships were conducting routine patrols in Aquitaine, and were beset by a Bretonian strike group, which had infiltrated the system from the direction of the Dublin jump hole. The two forces met between planets Pau and Bayonne. The Bretonian strike group had managed to scatter the Enclave patrol group and a few of their vessels were disabled as reinforcements began to arrive. Marshalcy and Navy forces both dispatched bombers to the scene until the Bretonian capital ships were put out of action. As the tide of battle turned, bomber pilots returned to base to launch fighters to deal with the straggling fighters left in action by the Bretonian fleet.
It should be noted that while the list of involved Enclave ships is large, there was never a point where all were present at the scene. We are not wasteful of our manpower, but we do rotate through roles as the engagement requires.
The full list of targets was neutralized, with Marshalcy forces scoring several successful takedowns.
And one of the more wily Bretonian fighter pilots became sloppy as the fight wore on:
