The woman rubbed her wrists in an attempt to ease the irritation left from the cuffs as she listened intently. The sound of gunfire in the background startled her, making her jump in her seat. She turned her head back to see the closed door behind her, as if expecting to see the source, before turning back to the man across the table. Claire opened her mouth to protest what just happened, but was cut off by the man continuing to speak.

Shivers ran down her spine as she was thrown off-guard by the commander's simple, yet brutally direct question. Realising what situation she is in after hearing her escort being murdered in cold blood, she started appearing much more nervous than before. Her hands began to tremble after realising she could be next. When did they become this cold hearted? She rested her hands on her legs in an attempt to avoid showing signs of her cracking composure.

"I didn't.. murder the captain, non." she answered with a slightly shaky voice. "The Outcast did, before grabbing me with her. I saw it happen before me, but I couldn't stop it. He drew a pistol to intimidate her, but she was faster." she continued to explain, hanging her head lower. She realised her explanation would probably raise so many questions as to how she managed to come back by being returned by Outcasts themselves, but she couldn't have thought of a better response in that state.

Not wanting to draw any ire, she remained quiet, waiting for his response.
