The woman sighed. She could see the resemblance between the captain and the commander - both of them stubborn to no end. Unfortunately for her, there was nothing that she could do to remedy the situation, and it seemed like the man wasn't willing to hold the conversation any longer than it has to be. The noble absolutely despised that near-condescending attitude from the commander, bu she learned very well from first-hand experience that provoking the bear is a terrible idea. If the situation were any different, she would have called him out on it, but instead she opted to grit her teeth and let it slide.

The impact of what he said only hit a few seconds later. She was directly at fault for the drop in morale, and likely doomed the Belisama if it weren't for her return. At least the new commander wasn't willing to suicidally fly the ship directly into Council patrols. The thought rooted itself into the back of her mind as the feeling of guilt manifested itself.

"I see. Most data that I've gathered during my time away is on the PDA I've given to you. It includes nav maps for the Tau systems in the event those were missing, or out of date. I can only trust you to ensure the ship returns to Gallic territory safely." she replied, avoiding to respond to the justification over murdering those aiding them. Before any of this happened, she would have ordered the same thing, but her time away has shown that not all of the Sirian savages were as bad as they were portrayed to be. Only most of them were.

"I hope my personal quarters are still unoccupied. I'll be returning there. Please keep me up to date on any developments and let me know if I'm needed for anything. Perhaps I can do something to raise the crew's spirits." she said as she stood up, only then realising the lapse of manners - she never asked for his name.

"Commandeur..?"

A considerable time has passed since then. The commander wasn't exaggerating about morale - spirits were truly low, the crew overdue a break. The fact that the Council had taken over and "won" was a crushing blow to any Royalist, and many didn't take it well. Claire's return didn't seem to boost anyone's spirits either - on the contrary, they viewed her with suspicion over the captain's death. At least the cargo they've brought seemed to have gone to good use - repairs were underway, with engineers working overtime for the past few days. The higher quality rations were a welcome addition, too. A significant change from the usual paste and repulsive Sirian food raided from civilian traffic.

Life on the Belisama never felt the same without her aide, or anyone to really assist her in running her own administrational work and day to day life. After a few days of relative silence and mind-numbing near-isolation, time was truly starting to slow down and take a toll on her mental state. If only Léon was with her, things would be completely different. The noble decided to come up to the bridge and inspect how things are going on the third day, looking for the commander that seemed busy reading data.

The woman approached him, inspecting what he was doing before addressing him. "Bonjour, capitaine. Could you provide a status report?"
