Project Fischers Resolve
When faced with opposition with superior firepower time and time again the Order
once more turned to the Science Division to find a solution to the problem.
As the Order lacked the capability to construct larger warships in any reliable, steady fashion,
it seemed most beneficial to instead focus on improving what was currently available.
Capital Ship Armor Upgrades were a widely available product throughout Sirius,
with different degrees of potency. While these often performed well the Science Division felt
like it could squeeze out just a bit more effectiveness with the cutting edge technology they
had available to them thanks to studying the Nomads and their creators.
Thus the Science Division set out to create a Capital Ship Armor Upgrade that exceeded the
commonly referred to CAU VIII tier Armor Upgrade. While most detaills regarding the research and execution of this project,
let alone the process to produce the end result are deemed highly classified given the involvement of alien tech,
they were eventually successful in their endeavor.
The new armor stood up to significantly more firepower than the CAU VIII design it would inevitably be compared to,
boasting an average of 25 percent increased toughness when confronted with weaponry currently known to the Order.
This new design was named Fischers Resolve, in honor of an ambitious Commander within the Orders ranks.
Extensive testing proved that the armor would degrade in roughly a months time;
an unfortunate side effect of the secretive process the armor underwent during production
to give it its increased toughness in the first place. Still despite this setback the project was considered a success.
With Fischers Resolve the light capital ships that the Order fielded would be able to withstand
greater hardships and hopefully manage to return to base safely should they be forced to retreat.
Unfortunately due to the complicated nature of the production process and the sensitivity of the technology used
in the process itself, the Order is unable to produce these armor upgrades in large numbers at a time.
The ones that do eventually degenerate, as such their production is mostly limited to prior important missions in which every single edge counts.
