Actually, every pirate or pirate faction should have it's own code of honour, I've seen that Benitez have one for example. There should not be any server rules regarding this (except the existing ones).

Let the pirates do whatever they wish if they can enforce it... and traders should pay for protection. Generaly Escorts are twice as cheap as pirates, although you might not get pirated everytime...

I as BMM hire escorts whenever I spot them. I pay them around 300k to 1M for what would cost me 2M at a pirate. That gives me someone to talk to and remarkably improves my interaction with pirates *grin*.

If anything pirating should be easier, to force traders to hire escorts...

But when you're power trading, you can't afford those nifty escorts can you... every milion counts.
