Most scholars date the start of the group as the publication of Golden Chrysanthemum in Bloom in 642 AS. The author, Yuyu Matsuda, was a young but critically acclaimed poet. Charismatic and well-spoken, Matsuda had a considerable following among young Kusari women who found their lives lacking in direction but were reluctant to become married and fulfil their traditional role in Kusari society.

Yuyu decried what she saw as the corruption of the Kusari male-dominated culture and preached a revolution led by the long-suffering women of Kusari. These ideas were eventually encapsulated in Golden Chrysanthemum in Bloom, in which Matsuda described a fictitious nation called Yomi. A place of fat, lazy male bureaucrats who handed out concessions at the whim of entrenched mega-corporations, Yomi was eventually engulfed in revolution and united under the rule of a benevolent Empress personally selected by the goddess Amaterasu to watch over her people.

Matsuda looked to the foreigners as a model, where women could be president and run corporations. The Chrysanthemum went on to become a best-seller. Unfortunately, in 648 AS, Matsuda crossed the dangerous line between ideas and actions when she was implicated in the botched assassination attempt of the planetary governor of Kyushu. Rather than face the ignominy of imprisonment, Matsuda chose ritual suicide instead. With the death of Matsuda, the radicalization of most of her followers began and an increase in attacks on government personnel and installations followed soon after.

Ainu Depot was the first space station built by the Golden Chrysanthemums, though the exact date of its construction is unknown it is speculated to date back to late 660 AS. Ever since its construction, Ainu has served as a valuable launchpad for raids upon traffic passing through Kyushu and Hokkaido much to the discontent of the Kusari State Police.

With the repair of the Battleship Matsuda completed, Ainu has lost its status as the GCs headquarters though it has retained its importance as an installation with the addition of a drydock, finished in late 824 AS. The ability to maintain the Sisterhood’s fleet of fighters, logistics and gunboats is the first step on the road for Golden Chrysanthemums to become an independent and self-reliant movement.

CLASS: Meiji
CREW: CLASSIFIED
ARMAMENT: CLASSIFIED
The Battleship Himeji, commanded by Chujo Michio Raikatugi, was originally stationed outside Heaven's Gate - an ancient Imperial fortress in the Tohoku system that Governor Tekagi had subverted for his own purposes. The Himeji served alongside a guard fleet led by the Battleships Ishioka, Musashi and Sennan. In 800 AS at the peak of the Nomad War, the Blood Dragons led an attack on the fortress resulting in the Nomad-infested Tekagi's death.

The Matsuda was one of the casualties of this battle. A Blood Dragon bomber wing struck the ship while others distracted its escort fleet. Two torpedoes struck the bridge, killing the entire bridge crew instantly. A third torpedo struck the engine, exploiting a critical design flaw in the Meiji class, and the subsequent explosion crippled the ship. Its crew was forced to abandon ship and seek refuge on Heaven's Gate.

The abandoned ship drifted into an asteroid field, and was assumed destroyed by both the Kusari and Nomad forces it had been a part of. Eventually, Golden Chrysanthemum (GC) smugglers encountered the reasonably intact wreck by chance in 810 AS After a more thorough inspection, the GC decided it was worth the expense of salvaging the ship, and with the assistance of their Blood Dragon allies, managed to repair the engines to the point that it could safely jump.

The ship was brought into Okinawa where it was partially restored over the course of five years, until it could make the journey to Sigma 19 to receive more extensive repairs from the Chrysanthemum's Hispanian allies. Upon its restoration, The Sisterhood re-christened the ship "Battleship Matsuda", in honour of Yuyu Matsuda, founder of the Golden Chrysanthemum movement.

With its sublight engines fully repaired in mid-825 AS, the Matsuda was able to move back into Kusari, positioning itself in the Seiran Cloud to strike at convoys along the trade artery between New Tokyo and Planet Kyushu. While the Matsuda's engines are fully operational, her weapons systems and sensor suite are highly outdated, making a direct confrontation with a modern day Toitsu class or even a well maintained Meiji a serious concern. For this reason, patrols are frequently dispatched to ensure the Matsuda has ample time to flee if ever discovered.

CLASS: Susaki
GRAVITY: Partial
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes

Constructed in late 815 AS, Morioka is a small depot constructed by the Golden Chrysanthemums in the southern part of the Shikoku system. Hidden by the Keiun nebula, it is mainly used by Cardamine smugglers. The Liberty Rogues and the occasional Lane Hacker visits the station for this purpose. Blood Dragons looking to make repairs also visit, but they rarely stay longer then needed.

CLASS: Roma
GRAVITY: Complete
DOCKING: Yes
AMENITIES: Yes
CREW: 130
Nishiara is an outpost station established by the Golden Chrysanthemums in 823 AS after its discovery by the movement. The station was built with the purpose to strengthen the movement's presence within the system, as well as to provide a staging ground for Golden Chrysanthemum patrols and reconnaissance in Sigma-59 and the surrounding systems.

It was later discovered that the station's location and relative peace was ideal for hosting conferences and meetings between Golden Chrysanthemum and Outcast representatives. Nishiara is where most discussions, agreements and debates between the Outcasts and the Golden Chrysanthemums take place, with diplomatic envoys frequently seen entering and exiting the station. As a result of this development, Nishiara is relatively well-defended by both GC patrols and Outcast escorts, and its location is normally kept untold to outsiders.

There are many security measures in place to make sure that the words muttered behind closed doors remain secret. It is rumored that the station's air circulation systems are laced with cardamine to weed out would-be spies that would try to gain access to the station and eavesdrop on meetings.
Ships Sold: Drone Freighter, Waran Bomber, Raven's Talon VHF
