EPISODE ONE

Scene 12 - „All roads lead to...Orack”

This is my Quest to follow that star,
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far,
To fight for the right
Without question or pause,
To be willing to march into night
For.....a cause!

As soon as he landed his fighter into the docking bay of the Ma'at, Talfryn went to his cabin, visibly affected by the meeting. He sat down at the desk, noticing on the screen of his computer the messages that he had read over and over again these past weeks, whilst Ma'at made its way from Bretonnia to the Sigmas. As farfetched as it seemed, he found Sakir'har, he found TAVIA "How the hell was that even possible?!" thought Talfryn; he found Lafferentz...Lafferentz, Alexander 'Unioner' Lafferentz. He remembers even now seeing for the first time this strange fellow accompanying Orack down the main docking bay of Thabit,. He stirred quite the controversy among the people present that very first day. He looked so out of place in his Rheinalnder outfit among O'Rhu's personnel, so...lost. But he kept up close to Orack as they made their way to the big man's office. That was Orack's way of greeting every newcomer, a sort of ceremonial walk-and-show all the way to the big office. Orack really new how to leave an impression on people. He did the very same thing with him, when he joined O'Rhu. He remembers to this day that gut-hitting emotion, all that hassle and bustle in docking bay area, the new, the excitement, Orack's speech in the office...

As much as he was thankful for seeing old friends and familiar places, he was more devastated by the fact that all the bad news about Thabit, the heart and soul of O'Rhu, the base that took so much effort to set in place and maintain, so that O'Rhu could really have a place of their own in that harsh part of Sirius, a home for the many that wore O'Rhu's coat-of-arms was destroyed...Unioner saw it being decommissioned and many of the men and assets repurposed. How could Orack let that happen, why?! And most importantly, where was Orack? These were all thoughts passing through Talfryn's mind in the wake of the very unlikely meeting that had just taken place.

Talfryn pressed a small button on his communicator. "Johnathan, I think it's about time we tell everyone everything. Thabit is no more, Unioner confirmed it. The cell is long disband and Orack is nowhere to be found. I have serious reasons to believe that we were last to hear of Orack and the crew on the Rahotep, at the time we sent Sakir'har from our detail to meet them. Please muster the crew in the docking area, I'd want to break the news to the myself" A short yes sir! was heard coming back from the device, in a easily noticeable troubled voice.

How could have Orack let this happen, the man that basically built this from scratch, after O'Rhu have seen the worse days in the aftermath of Toledo. This man managed to rally so much support behind O'Rhu and what it stands for, so much was his heart in this and people loved him for it; the man that steered O'Rhu so consciously of its mission, so well so that it was recognized even in the eyes of the Overwatch. O'Rhu have seen greatness under his leadership. How could all be gone now just like that...? This couldn't be, there must be something else here and that ship, the very ship that nosy OS&C captain, Caitlyn, found holds the answers. It must be so that Sakir'har be put back in shape and TAVIA is set back online, no matter the costs, no matter how; what happened to Orack must be the key to this ordeal, to this nightmare, and TAVIA most certainly holds the answer.

Talfryn removed himself from the desk and went to the porthole. Looking at the nebula outside, he felt his blood rushing and a warmth started to take over his whole body. He felt anger, yet he also felt powerless. Thinking of the crew he was about to face and the decisions he was to convey to them. will they stick by his side even now? Will they continue to fight, will they want to go further than anyone can ask of them and try, just try to find Orack? Talfryn tried to shake this thought for a moment, he felt he needed his head clear, he tried to focus on the task at hand, as Orack thought him, tried to be present here and now. and the here and now was a terrible one to be living...it was on him to find where Orack is, the only man holding the answers now. He'll have to send men on Newport Station to get Sakir'har back in functioning order. He'll have to go there himself too. That gunboat hods what may be the single chance of knowing where Orack is, not even mentioning the operational or the sentimental value of that craft. After all, at this moment the Ma'at and the Sakir'har were the last known O'Rhu assets. Five years ago, when heading to Bretonnia for the secret mission that had Ma'at silent from most of the time passed since, he was the one to pass the Sarki'har crew the new orders, and had seen this gunboat leave Ma'at's detail to meet with Rahotep, the flagship of O'Rhu. At that time he never thought that would be the last time he'd ever see the Rahotep, its crew and Orack.

Talfryn tried to remember anything suspicious, from back then, when the orders to let Sakir'har out of Ma'at's detail came in. The way Orack ran O'Rhu meant, at time assuming direct control and giving orders to assets directly. So was the case of Ma'at, sent in Bretonnia to oversea the war there so that, in a desperate move, Bretonnia was not to get their hands deeper into alien technology, without Order's knowledge. He remembers clearly the discussion Orack had with Ma'at's captain, Cmdr. Forson, where the Director had the bad feeling that might be a very strong possibility at the time. He was right to fear this, as patrols revealed the Sunderland Research Facility in the atmosphere of Planet Darlington, in Newcastle, studying a nomad city. The stupidity on these Bretonnians... A sudden frown could be noticed on Talfryn face. Sunderland...that damn station. He shakes at the thought of that station...Talfryn started rubbing his forehead. In trying to keep up with the events surrounding that station, Ma'at suffered greatly, with loss of life and Talfryn having to step in as the new acting commanding officer of the Ma'at. Talfryn tried to shook the thought, it was still so painful to think of that night, he still had nightmares of it all...He tried to be back present, here and now, here and now as Orack was saying to him so many times before. "Here and now, Talfryn..."

Returning at his desk, Talfryn saw the open conversation on his computer again. Thinking of it and the meeting today, in Sigma 19, near the gas miner, Talfryn took comfort knowing at least Lafferentz was in on this, and, funnily enough, Caitlyn was too...Talfryn couldn't helped but to let out a small smirk thinking of the friends he has just met, an old one, and a new one...
