Admirable intent, but things are very imbalanced rule wise and limited gameplay wise.
Not much is going to get better or change until a whole bunch of little changes are made to even things out. I'd also be all for taking more action in game on any issue, but its proven pointless. At the moment, keeping up offense against a base is far easier than defending. You'd be wasting your time sadly.
The place is locked down in every relevant way, so this is the best it gets and will get. All I know is, if there really is no hope of more progressive changes, there's no point in worrying about it, or caring at all, and the only actual action you can take is to not play, not give your time. If there's no real fair way to fight back, if the situation is dead end, don't get sucked into fighting while tied down, and let the poor scenario here kill off what activity it kills.
Its a shame because this "RP" server now revolves around missions and has become Star Conflict rp light basically going more arcade than rp. It still feels like trading is dead end, rp investment is dead end, and in game projects are dead end. So even though there's lots of players online it still feels pointless to bother trying anything in depth anymore.
This place needs an overhaul in new player activities/capabilities that could be earned/employed by players, both individual and group level. Some new special/super abilities could be used to give players more plausible ability in game to balance out situations where one side easily dominates the other. Unfortunately with the loss of NEMP's, things have been going the opposite direction.
The bottom line is that these player base sieges only go on because they are the only destroyable bases in the game period. They become top priority always. There is a whole game sitting here doing nothing that, with a little operation, could have some military targets of actual importance to center this activity around. With a few new rules and some actual things to do in the game that can be considered real, activity would be focused on those things simply from players caring more about whats a priority inrp. Bases for the most part would be sidlined in priority if players had siegeable military bases to worry about. And they only worry about them if there's a little consequence to not caring, like losing space, losing control of a wormhole or junction.
Tell me, why are there not mortal capitals from Bretonia at every jumphole around Enclave space? And why no Enclave ones on their side? Or why neither side tries making a move to contro the other side by holding the areas with ships? If that were going on, we likely would never bicker much about POB's ever again. It all proves people like fighting over mortal bases, and we're overdue for another similar option.
Otherwise since nothing is real here and there's no way to effect things in organized ways, its pointless. Let me know when its worth returning and I'll get in there too.
